Can I change my ticks after I've entered them?
You can add extra ticks at any time. Just click on My Matches under your member's homepage. You will now be taken to a screen which will have your event listed on it. Click on 'Check matches' and add more ticks for the event. However you cannot untick people you have already ticked.
Can I see who ticked me at a SpeedDater event?
Yes, first you need to enter your own ticks. You will then be able to see the 'Click here to check your yes ticks' link. Click this to see a list of people who ticked you. If you don't want to know how many ticks you received don't click it!
How do matches/ticks and emails work?
After attending a speed dating event you are able to tick other members and to see who ticked you. Just click on My Matches under your member's homepage. You will now be taken to a screen which will have your event listed on it. Click on 'Check matches' and add more ticks for the event. You can also check how many ticks you received at the event. Click the 'click here to check your yes ticks' link and you'll see a list of people who ticked you.
After you have attended an event you can send a message to anyone who attended. After you have entered your tick, click the 'Click here to view all attendees' link. Choose the person you want to send a message to and click 'send e-mail'.
How do profiles work?
At any time you can log onto the SpeedDater website to set up a profile. If you want to you can also upload up to 10 pictures, of 8MB each maximum. After you've been speed dating you can view the profiles of people who attended the event before you enter your ticks.
How will I know if I have any matches?
We email you the day after the event you attend with your login details. You can then enter your ticks and check your matches on our website. If you have matches you will see the first name and badge number of the people you match with in the Matches area. You can send messages to people you match with through the SpeedDater website. You can also check how many ticks you received at the event.
I didn't get any matches. Does that mean I can come again for free?
Unfortunately not. We cannot guarantee whether or not you will receive matches. If you tick anyone you have met at a SpeedDater event you have indicated that you would like to seem someone again and therefore do not qualify for a free ticket to a future event. The guarantee does offer a free ticket to anyone who chooses not to tick anyone at one of our events.
I don't seem to have any matches but I'm sure x ticked me?
Not all matches will be displayed until everyone has entered their ticks. Check again in a couple of days.
I got few or no ticks/matches. How many do people normally get?
The number is very variable. However in general men tend to tick more people than women do. We've also established that men tend to overestimate the number of women who have ticked them and women tend to underestimate how many men have ticked them.
I ticked someone for dating but only have a friendship match with them. Why?
You only receive a 'dating' match if both people select dating. If one person chooses dating and the other chooses friendship it comes up as a 'friendship' match. If both people choose friendship it is also a friendship match.

Why does it say 'Event not ready' for an event I went to last night?
This means we have not yet entered everyone's badge numbers after the event you attended. We aim to have all events ready by midday on the morning after the event you attended. You will receive an email to notify you that the event is open.
